Members of the Michigan State University School of Public Health and College of Human Medicine gave a poster presentation on the Aquagenx Compartment Bag Test (CBT) at the 2013 Water and Health Conference at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in October.
Authors Patricia Weiss, Tiong Gim Aw and Joan B. Rose published “Microbial Quality and Safety of Well Water in Rural Nicaragua as Determined by Low Cost Bacterial Test.”
The main objective of the study was to determine the microbial quality of drinking water from wells in rural Nicaragua using the CBT.
The authors concluded the CBT made it possible to test in the field for E. coli contamination in a rural location where supplies and lab equipment were limited.
